Congratulations to the Stone Bridge Girls Varsity soccer team for opening their season with a 2-0 win on the road against Chantilly. In the 12th minute of the game, freshman Amy Thompson dribbled through the defense and found sophomore Kayla Valle who shot the ball past the Chargers' goalkeeper to put the Bulldogs on the board. Both teams continued to have scoring opportunities. Junior Dani-Joy Leonhardt scored the second goal of the night. Senior Lauren Brower sent a cross into the goal and Leonhardt was there to finish it. Senior Hailey Corpe had 4 saves in goal to earn the shutout. The Bulldogs will host the McLean Highlanders on Tuesday night.
