The Stone Bridge High boys' varsity tennis team won a close and hard fought match against Broad Run High in their final "Battle of Ashburn" match. The Bulldogs won the match 5-4. It started with a win at the 4 singles position, with freshman Rohan Malladi winning his match with an 8-2 score. Senior Hunter Freitas followed Malladi, winning his match at the 2 singles position with an identical 8-2 score. Freshman Jacob Brantley got the Bulldogs' third win of the match, beating his opponent 8-6 in the 3 singles match. The Bulldogs went into doubles played needing to win two of the three doubles matches to get the team match win, and they did just that. Freshmen Brantley and Malladi cruised through their #3 doubles match with an 8-3 score, leaving the match to be won by the #2 doubles team of senior Freitas and junior Danny Sandberg. Freitas and Sandberg won their match, and sealed the team victory, with an 8-4 score.
