The Stone Bridge High School Boys' Varsity Tennis Team won their 1st match of the year Friday by defeating Fairfax High School 7-2. Freshman Rohan Malladi and Matthew Bernhards started the evening off for the Bulldogs with a convincing wins. Malladi won his match 10-2 at #6 singles, followed by Bernhards winning his match at #3 singles, 10-1. Senior Hunter Freitas and junior Arjun Mannem both won their singles matches again, for the 2nd straight match. Freitas won his match at #2 singles, 10-4, while Mannem won his singles match at #5 singles with a 10-4 score as well. To officially seal up the 1st team win of the season, freshman Jacob Brantley won his match at #4 singles, with 10-8 score. In doubles action, Freitas and junior teammate Danny Sandberg won their match at #2 doubles, with a score of 10-2. To complete the match and win, the freshman duo of Brantley and Malladi won their doubles match at #3 doubles, with a score of 10-6.
