The 3rd seeded Stone Bridge Bulldogs traveled to face #2 seeded Broad Run in the Battle of the Burn III. The two teams split the regular season games, each with a 2 point win. The evenly matched trend continued in the 1st quarter with the score tied at 9-9 when James DiLuigi knocked in a 3/4 court bomb to put the Bulldogs up by 3, a lead they never relinquished. Stone Bridge went into halftime up by 10 points. The Broad Run Spartans fought hard to cut the lead to 6 at the end of the 3rd quarter, but the Bulldog defense held firm and the game ended with Stone Bridge on top 60-48. Mark Williams had an impressive double double scoring 16 points and pulling down 16 rebounds. Ben Kling scored 14 points while pulling down 7 rebounds of his own. James DiLuigi contributed tremendous defense while also scoring 9 points, Tyler Warden 9 key points and Evan Buckley finished with 7 points 3 assists and 3 steals.
Stone Bridge advances to their 3rd straight Conference Championship game and will play #1 seed Potomac Falls on Friday night at Tuscarora HS.
