With Murielle Tiernan in fould trouble most of the game, the team pulled
together and beat a very good Madison team to win our first ever Liberty
District title. It was a back and forth contest most of the game. Stone Bridge
grabbed an early 9-2 lead but Tiernan picked up two quick fouls and stayed on
the bench the rest of the first half. Megan Della-Penna and HB Whitaker played
fabulous games both on offense and defense. Nicole Prince was assigned the job
of guarding Megan LeDuc, who had 32 points last night. Nicole made her work for
everything and did a phenominal job limitong her looks. Kayla Sleece also came
inin to guard LeDuc and kepp her in check. Kayleigh guzek and Cori Prince lead
the way tonight with leadership, making big shots, and playing tenacious all
night long. Erin Dzurialla gave us key minutes off the bench when Cori and
nicole Prince got in foul trouble. It was a total team effort and with Murielle
never really getting into the flow of the game, our team showed why they are
champions.
