The Stone Bridge girls soccer team fell to Broad Run with a score of 2-1 in a game that was called due to inclement weather with 25 minutes left to play in the second half. Broad Run scored its first goal 8 minutes into the game and then again 10 minutes later. After having some scoring opportunities, the Bulldogs were able to score off a free kick. Sophomore Briana Alston took the kick that was placed on the Bulldogs’ side of the center circle. The ball bounced once in the penalty box and then bounced over the keeper’s outstretched hands. Fifteen minutes into the second half, lightning struck. After a two-hour delay of waiting for the storm to pass, the game was called. Junior Hailey Corpe had 4 saves on the night.
